The
primary goal of this research study is to assess challenges and solutions for the inclusion of persons with permanent disability in education and gainful employment.
The
secondary goal is to assess the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or medicine (STEM) in academia or industry.
This is an
anonymous survey open to
all persons over the age of 18 years in the USA.
Participation in this study may positively inform policies that improve education and gainful employment of persons with disabilities.
The primary target groups are disabled or non-disabled persons who are either current students or who are gainfully employed. Other participants needed include those in STEM and non-STEM fields, non-students, and/or those not gainfully employed.
The anonymous survey should take
20 minutes or less to complete. Names or direct identifiers of participants, schools, or employers will
not be collected. We will comply with any applicable laws and regulations regarding confidentiality.
The risks involved are no greater than those involved in daily activities. Participants will not be compensated for joining this study.
Aggregated study results will be submitted for scientific publication and made freely available to all.
To make sure that this research is being carried out in the proper way, the Georgia Institute of Technology Internal Review Board and/or the Office of Human Research Protections may examine study records.
